WHY DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER?
We are expecting over 5,000 people and we would hate for your kids to miss the EggDrop because they are standing in the registration line. Pre-register your child allows for you to move through the line much quicker! We will be registering people at the event, but we highly recommend registering in advance to ensure you get in.
WHERE AND WHAT TIME IS THE EVENT?
The event will be located at Jennings Park & Recreation in Jennings, LA. The event starts at 11:00 am and last until 2:00 pm. EggDrop Schedule is as follows:
- 12:00pm - (0-3 year olds & VIP Kids)
- 12:30pm - (4-6 year olds)
- 1:00pm - (7-9 year olds)
- 1:30pm - (10-12 year olds)
HOW DOES THE EGGDROP WORK?
A full size helicopterwill drop thousands of plastic eggs onto the fields before the egg hunt! But don’t worry, everyone will be standing in a safe area away from where the eggs are being dropped. After the helicopter has safely left the kids will then be allowed onto the field to collect eggs! This year’s event will feature four age-specific drops (Ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12). Each drop will be staggered 30 minutes for each age group. This provides ultimate safety and ensures a parent can give full attention to their children in each age specific zone.
MY CHILD HAS A SPECIAL NEED, CAN HE/SHE STILL PARTICIPATE?
YES!!! If your child has special needs we would like to "roll out the red carpet" for them by providing a VIP pass that will ensure they get preferred access to the egg hunts as well as other activities. When you register your child please explain any special accommodations they may need.
DO WE NEED TO BRING OUR OWN BASKETS TO COLLECT EGGS?
YES! You will need to bring your own basket. We will also have plastic bags on hand provided by one of our sponsors for children without baskets.
ARE PARENTS ALLOWED TO GATHER EGGS WITH THEIR CHILDREN ?
Only parents of 1-3 year olds will be allowed to help their children on the field.
Parents from the other age groups will be able to watch and encourage their children from the boundary lines, just a few feet from the actual egg hunt field.
Our amazing Egg Drop Volunteers will ensure your children stay safe and have fun during their hunt. (This will also ensure over-zealous parents don’t grab all the eggs and ruin the event for other children, wink wink).
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
We will provide the eggs and candy, you just need an easter basket for your child to pick up eggs. Also don't forget to bring some cash for the food trucks. e will also be selling EggDrop Shirts for $10.
WILL THERE BE FOOD?
We will have 5 different food vendors at this year's event. So bring some money to buy lunch. They will be serving hamburgers, nachos, frito pies, sno cones and much more. The Food Vendors are the only thing that cost at the event, everything else is FREE.
HOW CAN I HELP?
We are collecting plastic Easter eggs and candy donations. You can drop off your candy donations off at the church during our Sunday services or at the church office during the week, Monday-Friday 9:00pm - 5:00pm. We ask that the candies are individually wrapped, non-chocolate, no lollipops.
Also it takes over 200 volunteers to pull off this event. If you would like to volunteer, click here!
CAN I BRING MY CAMERA?
Absolutely!! Free up some space on your phone and camera because you are going to want to take lots of pictures. We will have an Easter Bunny at the event for pictures. Don't forget to add the #OSCEggDrop hashtag to all your social media posts. We want everyone to enjoy seeing your pics!
WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?
In the event of inclement weather, please check the web site for details about rescheduling and/or location change. If you are already registered, we will email you with any date or venue changes.
